I get that as it gets colder and we can’t start getting out onto the field as much the visual aspect of the game becomes very hard for certain players. Walking into the cage and trying to hit a bomb every time is not going to help us when the season rolls around. We need to have a goal with every swing we take this off season. So when we walk into the cage we need to have the approach of gap to gap. Along with this approach of back spinning balls through the big part of the field for me specifically to keep me from not getting to big I think short stops letters. The cage translation for me i will tell myself “no higher then the top bar. I’m getting on top of this pitch with backspin off the top of bar of the L screen” this approach has helped me keep my bat in the zone for a long time to backspin balls to both gaps.
