What’s your 2k approach? From what I learned as a hitter through the years is a lot of different guys go different routes. Some are: choke up, spread out, cut the plate in half, sit fb adjust cb. For me personally and what I’ve learned is that it depends on how you’re feeling at the plate and how well you’re seeing it at the time. Me personally I had a hitting coach tell me to “shrink the zone” when you get to 2 strikes because depending on the situation either you’re gonna be getting yourself out with a pitch not in the zone or the pitcher wants to sit you down quickly. When I “shrink the zone” I am still looking for that pitch out over the plate. I personally get onto the plate and choke up also so I can assure I’m not gonna caught looking on a pitch inside. I also like to lower my sights with 2 strikes. Instead of line drive thru the left field fence I’ll go line drive at the shortstops legs. (Left handed approach) To really emphasize I’m staying as short as I can be and getting on top of a pitch. When you have 2 strikes it turns into a street fight fellas. You vs the dude on the mound. I am not getting myself out and everybody on the field and watching knows you can’t beat me. Throw me the kitchen sink and I’ll be ready. I’m on time with everything you got. I’ve battled and now I’m gonna win this at bat. Having the approach of he’s gonna give me a mistake in my hot zone and I’m not gonna miss is vital it’s all a mindset when talking hitting.
